Naturally Glowing

It's that time of year again when you open a magazine and see bronzed beauties staring at you from advertisements for summer fragrances, cosmetics and of course self-tanner. Since the mantra of this blog is to embrace your fair skin I thought I would make my first post about surviving the warm weather as a fair skinned gal.
To combat the redness heat and sunlight bring to my complexion I use Clinique's Redness Solutions Makeup. It's lightweight and it really does counteract the redness in my skin quite well. I apply it with a foundation brush concentrating on my cheeks and nose and moving outwards to cover the rest of my face.

To give my legs and arms a bit of a pick me up I adore St. Tropez Everyday Body Moisturizer, which is an infinitely better version of Jergens Natural Glow. I know that technically it is a self-tanner and you're probably thinking, "Isn't this blog about embracing the pale?" So yes, this is true but the St. Tropez lotion is unique because it is incredibly moisturizing, dries quickly, smells lovely and also gives you skin a very light even glow, the way a perfect pair of nude hose would if such an item existed. I find that it counteracts the dullness of the skin on my legs after months in pants and tights, making them presentable in shorts and skirts.

My newest find is Lancome's Renergie Eye Multiple Action. Maybe you've seen it in a magazine because it's a new product. It's an eye cream with a treatment concealer on top, hidden in the lid. My Dermatologist told me that eye cream is really unnecesesary and she is an amazing Dr. so while I totally trust her, I also adore this product. The eye cream doesn't bother my sensitive eyes: no burning, stinging or eye watering whatsoever. The treatment concealer is very lightweight and perfect for summer. It also has an amazing consistency that lays very nicely on delicate under eye skin. I've never come across another concealer like it. I should note that of during the winter I am a devotee of Cle De Peau's concealer stick. I can not live without it. However, it is a bit heavy during the summer months when your face perspires more. The Lancome treatment concealer is the perfect solution for the warmer months.

St. Tropez Daily Moisturizer and Clinique Redness Solutions Foundation are both available at Sephora.Lancome's Renergie Eye Multiple Action is available at Department Store or Lacome.com. Clea De Peau concealer can be purchased at Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus in stores or online.
